A medium, compact shrub with grey-green, finely divided leaves and contrasting clusters of bright red spider flowers with conspicuous yellow tips. This hardy shrub has a mounded form displaying the showy red flowers on ends of branchlets. It flowers in winter and spring and grows to 0.5 – 1m high and 1 – 2m wide in sand on limestone naturally, but is very adaptable and grows well in heavier clay loam and gravelly soils. It looks great on banks, rock walls, in shrubberies and as a low hedge. It is low maintenance and can be grown in full sun or part shade. Origin – Northern Sandplains.
