Gompholobium tomentosum – Hairy Yellow Pea

A small, upright or spreading shrub with narrow, hairy, divided leaflets and lovely pale lemon-yellow pea flowers, followed by round pea pods. It grows from 0.3 to 1m high in sand, sandy loam, sandy clay, gravelly loam, gravelly sand and limestone sand. It looks lovely in full sun or dappled shade in a low mixed shrubbery, in pots or under eucalypts. It flowers in late winter and spring and early summer and attracts pollinator insects. Prune in autumn to encourage denser growth if desired. Origin – south west and wheatbelt.
