Banksia drummondii – Drummond’s Dryandra

An unusual clumping shrub with long, arching leaves that have large, triangular lobes, and stunning, cream and pink orbicular flower heads near the base of the plant on short stems. The unfolding fawn to rusty brown, densely hairy, juvenile leaves contrast with the shiny, dark green adult leaves. It flowers in late spring and summer in full sun or dappled shade, and grows from 0.5 – 1m high and wide in sandy loam, sandy clay, gravelly loam, gravelly clay loam, sandy gravel and clay loam. This low maintenance, ornamental species provides a great contrast of form for the garden and is drought and frost tolerant. Origin – Great Southern
