A soft clumping perennial herb with long narrow leaves and clusters of fringed mauve flowers held on long stems. This lovely plant grows from 0.3 to 0.5m tall and flowers from late winter through summer. It grows in full sun and part shade and tolerates light frost and drought. Great for cottage gardens, rockeries, border plantings and in pots. It prefers sandy loam, sandy clay loam, gravelly loam and sandy gravel. Origin – South-west forests, woodlands and open shrubland.
