Orthrosanthus multiflorus – Morning Iris

A grass-like tufted plant with long, pale green strappy leaves and pale blue star flowers on long stems. A hardy plant that grows to 0.5m tall and prefers shade but will tolerate full sun and light frost. It flowers in spring and summer and looks lovely as individual clumps under eucalypts, as a border planting and around ponds. It prefers well-drained soils including sandy loam, sandy gravel and gravelly loam. Mulch well and prune flower stems off to keep tidy. Origin – South-west forest and shrubland.
