An attractive grass-like sedge with long, narrow, flat or folded leaves that form a low clump, and long flowering stalks, with brown and yellow spikelets, arising from the middle of the clump. The leaves maintain a relative lushness throughout the year that provide a lovely, fresh green look to borders, around ponds or under trees. The clumps are 0.5m – 1.2m high with flower stalk, and 0.8m wide. The flowering stalks can appear from autumn to late spring, and add to the attraction. It grows in a variety of soils, including deep sand, limestone sand, sandy loam, gravelly loam and clay loam. Origin – South-West
