A medium, upright to spreading shrub with red-brown and yellow flower clusters, and interesting tough, flat leaves, varying from narrow entire to broadly divided, and often shiny, with woody fruit. A hardy plant that flowers in spring to early summer and attracts insects and birds to the sweetly scented nectar. It grows from 0.5 – 1m tall in sandy loam, loam, peaty sand, sandy gravel, gravelly loam, winter wet flats and around granite outrops in full sun or dappled shade. An interesting plant for shrubberies and bush regeneration. Origin – South West
