Corymbia ficifolia – Red-Flowering Gum

$6.00

A small to medium tree with broad, dark green leaves, masses of bright red, pink or red-orange flowers, large gumnuts and fibrous bark. An outstanding WA feature tree for the garden with a dense, shady crown and spectacular flowers that attract many birds and pollinator insects, while the gumnuts feed cockatoos and parrots. It flowers in summer and autumn, and grows best in full sun from 4 to 12m high, usually about 6m, in sandy loam, loam, gravelly loam, clay loam and gravelly clay loam. It tolerates mild drought and frost, prefering cooler areas with some additional watering in summer. It can be pruned to maintain shape. Origin – South-West
