Tall upright shrub with broad, prickly leaves and abundant, large creamy-yellow flower heads. This hardy shrub grows to 3m H in hard ironstone, gravelly soils or coastal limestone and is suitable for larger gardens, hobby blocks and farms. It flowers from late autumn through winter and spring. It is a useful screening plant that attracts butterflies, honey possums and many birds for the nectar and nesting, while larger parrots and cockatoos feed on the seeds. Very drought tolerant and low maintenance. Origin – South-west Jarrah forest and coastal shrubland.
