Banksia plumosa

$8.00

An upright, large, dense shrub with long, narrow leaves with small triangular lobes, and creamy-yellow flower heads, surrounded by long, creamy-white shaggy bracts. These ornate, woolly flowers are present for most of the year and provide nectar when little else is flowering. The orange, furry new growth provides a lovely colour contrast in the foliage. A hardy shrub that is drought and frost tolerant. It grows from 0.5 – 2.5m high and 1 – 1.5m wide on sandy, gravelly and clay lateritic soils in full sun. Origin – Southern coastal uplands.
